What is a kids zip line like
A children’s zip line is a short, controlled ride along a cable, with the child clipped in and the team supervising. It gives the feeling of flying without the extreme height of an outdoor adventure park. For many children it is their first taste of adventure, so it tends to be exciting and a little nerve-racking.
Age guidance at OWI Kids World
At OWI Kids World in Chattarpur, the Adventure Course includes a zip line, an air cycle, sky skating and bridges, and is for ages 5 and above. Within the course, sky skating and the hurdle bridge are for ages 7 and above. Ages are a guide to help you choose the right activities for your child.
Helping a nervous child
- Let them watch other children first, so they see that it is safe and fun.
- Do not push. A child who is ready will go, and a child who is not will be glad you waited.
- Talk through what will happen before they go up.
- Cheer from the ground, and celebrate whichever step they take.
Other activities in the Adventure Course
Besides the zip line, children can try the air cycle, sky skating and the bridges. These build balance and confidence, and many children find that the air cycle is a gentler start than the zip line.
